George Foreman GR26CB Family Size Plus Grill with Cookbook, White
With nonstick cooking surfaces measuring 9 inches square, this family-size version of the celebrated George Foreman Lean Mean Fat- Reducing Grilling Machine grills four or five burgers or chicken breasts at once. The electric appliance's appeal lies in its simplicity and countertop convenience--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. The double-sided grill cooks burgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables top and bottom in minutes. Grill marks not only look appetizing, they contribute caramelized flavor. The bottom grill's deep grooves collect fat, and the grill is sloped so the fat runs off into a dishwasher-safe plastic tray (two included) stationed under the unit's front.

Because the grill is nonstick, cleanup is a snap: a quick scrape with a plastic spatula (two included) and a quick wipe with a paper towel or a sponge. Accompanying the grill is a 227-page cookbook containing recipes for such lip-smacking dishes as Halibut with Avocado Lemon Cream, Dijon Flank Steak, New Orleans Pork Ribs, Stuffed Green Chile Burgers, and Garlic Stuffed Red Potatoes. Overall, the grill measures 10-1/2 inches wide, 13 inches deep, and 6-1/2 inches high, and is clad in hard, gleaming, white plastic for a sleek appearance. --Fred Brack

    lovely grill. i adore George.

A bit bulky, but other than that it's a lovely grill. Get one and enjoy!
    LOVE IT!

I love the Foreman Grill, I use it constantly & tell everyone I know to buy one. I am intimidated by the BBQ, but with this grill I feel like I am eating BBQ, only I cooked it on my kitchen counter.

The only thing I am not happy about it is I wish it was the one with the removable grills. Sometimes it's a little hard to clean. I recommend spraying it with olive oil. I would totally buy this again, I think it's great!
Lean, Mean, and Simple to Use

This family- sized grill makes a nice alternative for cooking hamburgers, steaks, chicken, pork chops, other meats, and even vegetables. Promoted by former boxing champ George Foreman, this grill can cook up to five hamburgers (or several pieces of other food items) on its non- stick surface.

Fat drains away from foods and is collected in a small tray that is placed at the front of the grill. The way the food is cooked (top and bottom at once) tends to make it more juicy and flavorful- not quite as good as cooking on a charcoal grill, but better than most other preparation methods. You need to be careful with the drip trays, however, because they are not very big and it's common to overflow the trays if a large amount of food is cooked at once, like several hamburgers.

Cleanup is simple with this grill provided you start the process as soon as possible (once it has cooled) after you finishing cooking. If you start cleaning fast enough, the cleanup is a breeze. You can wipe it off with a sponge or paper towel. But if the food has had a chance to dry, it will take a little more elbow grease to break loose. The fact that the surface is non- stick isn't true in the literal sense. The food will still stick if the dirty grill is left sitting for a long period of time.

This grill, like other George Foreman Grills, is a simple device. There are no heat settings or other means to adjust the cooking. You plug it in, wait for the orange light to go off (indicating the unit is warmed up), place food in the grill, close the lid, and wait about five to ten minutes for it to finish. The easy operation makes it very practical, but it also makes it less appealing for more those with more advanced culinary skills. Those who enjoy cooking will consider this device too elementary and lacking in sophistication to take seriously.

This George Foreman model has a few minor annoyances, but I still like it and will continue to use it for the foreseeable future. It makes better tasting food than what you get from skillet preparation and the ease of use makes it second to none for grilling burgers and other meats.

    Factory-Reconditioned Dyson DC07 Upright Vacuum, Steel/Yellow
Designed by engineering guru James Dyson, inventor of the cyclonic vacuum, the 12-amp Dyson DC07 upright is an inspired combination of power and structural smarts. At the center of the machine's innovation is the Cyclone air path design, an eight-section chamber that creates powerful, consistent suction. The conical chambers generate 100,000 g of centrifugal force, pushing dust and dirt out of the airflow into the vacuum's 1-gallon collection cup. With no bag to clog, the vacuum's 270 air watts of suction remain steady. The large, transparent collection cup is easy to check and empties tidily--pop it off, hold it over a trash bin, and pull the trigger to release dirt without having to touch it. The DC07 also comes equipped with a multipart filtration system to improve overall air quality in the home. The HEPA filter, measuring 412 square inches in surface area, traps microscopic particulates and allergens. Expertly built, the filter is designed to last the lifetime of the machine.

Suitable for bare floors and carpets, the Dyson upright features a 14-inch cleaning path and edge-cleaning bristles. A simple foot pedal switches off the brush roll for bare floors, and the nozzle automatically adjusts for changes in carpet height. The vacuum is equipped for above-floor cleaning with a cleverly stowed, quick-release 17-foot hose with a reversible, extension-wand handle. Onboard accessories include a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery attachment, all designed to function without "sticking" to surfaces. Made from the same material used in crash helmets, the vacuum is unquestionably durable. Plus, the design only puts 4 pounds of weight on the handle, so pushing and turning is easy. This model comes with a 35-foot power cord.--Emily Bedard

Editor's note: This is a reconditioned vacuum. Reconditioned generally means that the vacuum has been returned to the manufacturer, who brings the vacuum back to like-new condition. Some appliances may contain cosmetic blemishes. Manufacturer offers a 6-month warranty on this reconditioned product.

    Dyson's great

The vacuum is just like new! I love it and it works great. There was a scare in the beginning when it was making a funny noise, but we were able to use the troubleshooting guide that came in the owners manual to resolve.
    Lifesaver

I'm sure that most vacuum cleaners could deal with the average dry walled, carpeted, centrally air conditioned, suburban dwelling. But it is not just any machine that is capable of handling an enormous, dusty, crumbling, multi-animal, flea bitten, hard wood floor and brick warehouse apartment. I did not do a "pre-cleaning" to test its capabilities as a fine tooth comb. I bought it tackle true filth, and I wanted to see if it could clean up a dirty mess (and, um, since I completely gave up doing anything to my floors for the two weeks before it arrived, things were pretty gosh darn dirty 'round here). I got my dyson out of the box and, after admiring the extremely intelligent design (not a wasted part or awkward feature to be found), went to work.

What a joy of a house hold appliance! The common complaint about the self retracting hose is something that I don't quite agree with. Compared to the stiff, unwieldy hoses of cheaper cleaners this one is very limber and easy to use. The force of the suction sometimes makes it a little difficult to elongate, but I am definitely not going to complain about a vacuum having a ton of suction power. Especially when I think of my upholstered furniture, now all free of cat hair.

I love how long the steel attachment shaft is; apparently the enormous brains at dyson realize that fellow homo sapiens with an upright posture are going to use this thing regularly, and that crawling around on your hands and knees to clean baseboards and corners is uncomfortable, unnatural, and undignified. In the hand it feels like a magic wand.

The rubber tires glide over my wood floors without any danger of scratch marks. The placement of the handle makes it positively fun to maneuver. The canister comes off the machine and empties into the trash so very easily.

Bottom line: Before this machine came into my life I invested in various sets of house slippers and sandals, but now I frolick around in my bare feet like a baby deer. I. LOVE. IT.

The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is the six month warranty. I know this is technically used, but $270 is still an AWFULLY large sum of money to spend on a vacuum, and I'm terrified of what might happen if this one breaks down. I'll be forced to buy the newest model! Never again could I go back to just a broom!
    Dyson upright vacuum

We were skeptical about buying a reconditioned Dyson, but couldn't see spending $400 - $500 for a vacuum. This turned out to be the right option. Despite some delay in shipping, the product arrived in great shape and is truly awesome. Even after having our carpets steam clean this machine still filled with debris after the first vacuuming...and our carpets were clean to start with. No complaints

    GETTING USE TO A SMOKER

I'M NEW AT THIS SMOKER THING AND I GUESS THAT I WILL HAVE TO KEEP TRYING AND LEARNING HOW TO COOK WITH THIS AND SMOKEING FOODS.BUT I WILL GET USE TO IT.I KNOW THAT ONCE I GET USE TO IT. I WILL TURN UP SOME GET MEALS WITH THIS SMOKER.
    Wow

I used my stovetop smoker for the first time today, and all I can say is that it works exactly as advertised. I live in a small apartment with no decent ventilation and a very rudimentary exhaust fan; and all I got was a faint, pleasant, hickory aroma as I smoked 5 lbs. worth of brisket. The results? I had my 2 boys over for dinner today and I now have 0 Lbs of brisket left over.

After just 2 uses (I also used it on Brussels Sprouts while the brisket was finishing in the oven), I do have one strong recommendarion. Line the drip pan with foil; especially if you used a rub or marinade. I neglected to do so, and I have now 2 lumps of carbonized sugar that may never come off that thing.

Anyway, the reason I am here tonight writing this is because I need to order more assorted wood chips. The quantities that are shipped are sample-sized and won't last very long. I would suggest that if you know what you want to do with the smoker, order extra chips as well. Otherwise, just sample and decide what you like best.

If, like me, you live in an urban apartment with no place to cook out, this and a cast iron grill pan are an excellent substitute BBQ solution. Quite frankly; based solely on flavor, I would be hard-pressed to tell the difference between the brisket I did today, and one done all day on an outdoor. The texture will be different, but c'est la vie.

This thing would make possum taste great!

I'm not kidding - this smoker has been a revolution in our kitchen. The most important thing is to understand that it is like a Dutch oven- so while your food is smoking it's also roasting. Salmon comes out roasted, but with the most wonderful smoke flavor - pork ribs are more juicy than if you grill them, and you have to work to dry anything out (we over cooked venison chops - thin meat doesn't need much time!). Most foods cook in 25 minutes - although a full size chicken will smoke/roast for an hour and a half.

We have a weekly dinner party and I've been running out of ideas - this smoker has added an extensive list of options to the menu! I just ordered my second one as I'll need two for the quantity of foods I'm smoking. I use the smoker to make appetizers (smoked salmon pate, smoked wings, smoked sauces and veggies...) and I've used it to smoke all sorts of meats - salmon, venison, chicken breasts, whole chickens, turkey breasts, pork ribs, baby back ribs... We spend our trips to the grocer looking for inspiration for our smoker!

The most surprising thing for me has been smoking vegetables. They come out moist, full of flavor and you would swear the rich smoke flavor should be adding calories! It's hard to believe something that tastes so rich could be healthy! Smoked asparagus, cauliflower, tomatoes, artichokes... fantastic!

I use a layer of foil over the top to add an extra seal - for items to large for the space provided you just leave the lid off and make a foil tent (whole chickens and turkeys) it's very easy. We haven't had a smoky kitchen yet -

I've been sending these to my family for gifts - if it's back ordered, trust me, it's worth the wait!

    Have fun smoking!
